Halloween

I love pumkins! When we went to Grandma's a few weeks ago she gave some pumpkins. We took three, one for me, one for Justin and one for the baby. Justin decided that we needed to carve our pumpkins this year so that I would through them away after halloween. Last year mine lasted until January. So for one of our FHE activities we carved pumpkins. They all turned out great but they didn't last until Halloween.

Mine is a monster, the little one is a face and Jusitn's is a spider.

Happy face, little face, spider, bat with clouds, pirate bones, goast in the grave yard, and monster.

It was ok that they didn't last. We went to our friends Trunk or Treat/ward party. I helped hand out candy and Justin took the kids around to get candy. Justin didn't really care to dress up but we made him anyway. He was a hot dog vender, which he was ok with because he got to have hot dogs as part of his costume, but then he ate them so we didn't get any pictures of his outfit. My friend Emily and I dressed up as the swine flu. We thought we were pretty funny and the bishop of her ward even talked about us in church the next day. We then went to Jess's house and watched movies and ate more candy and treats.

In other news, the baby is doing well. I have started feeling it move. It like to jump around, especially on my bladder. Justin tells me I am getting bigger everyday and he doesn't believe me that the baby is only about a pound and will hopefully gain several more. We had another ultrasound and I decide that the baby was going to be a skeloten for halloween. Here is the ultrasound picture it is just the face and part of the chest.

Fall

It is starting to feel like fall, we finally turned off the air conditioner and have been able to open the windows in the evening. We have been enjoying the cooler weather and everything else that comes with fall, including Hunting. Justin and his friend Von spent a weekend hunting up in the Ruby mountains in northern Nevada. The saw lots of doe but very few Bucks.

While Justin was out playing hunter, I stayed home and my Parent came down to play. We did lots of shopping and looking at baby stuff. We even bought the first articles of clothing for unborn Gorringe. As many of you know, we are NOT going to find out the sex of the baby. Which is exciting but makes it difficult to buy clothes for the baby. (I started a poll so take your guess)

So we bought a boy outfit

and girl outfit

and an gender neutral outfit (Dad picked out the Towel).

So baby has at least one outfit to wear. I also made sure that Mom knows where all the baby stores are for future visits. We went to the BYU vs. UNLV football game. It was my first ever college football game. We also went out for almost every meal and had lots and lots of cheesecake from the cheesecake factory, we especially like the pumpkin cheesecake.

Justin on the other hand did not eat as well, we did save him some leftovers. They didn't getting anything on their hunt. This however did not discourage Justin and he decided that he needed to try again.

This last weekend Michele and Caleb stopped by for a visit. She brought me some of here baby stuff, car seat, bassinet, swing and bouncer. So the baby now not only has an outfit but can come home from the hospital and has a place to sleep. We even started cleaning out the office to make room for the baby stuff. Michele and Caleb then left for Disneyland and we headed out to Beaver. Justin talked my uncle Jimmy into taking him hunting and with in three hours of actual hunting they had a deer! He has fun with Jimmy and his boys, my cousins. I on the other hand chose not to wake up at three in the morning and went shopping with Grandma, Aunt Cindy and RaCail. We ran some errands and had lunch at Cafe Rio, also a first for me. I then spent the rest of the time helping Grandma with the computer and doing genealogy stuff for Mom. We love going to Beaver, spending time with the family and getting away from Vegas. They actually have fall leaves and colors in Utah.

The Savage

For FHE this month we had a drive in movie night. Each couple was given the task of designing a car out of a box to sit in while we watched a movie in our friends back yard with the help of a video projector. Being as difficult as we are we decided to make an airplane instead and we certainly did enjoy our in flight movie. Here are some pictures of the Savage.

Four Years, Four months and Four days

On the tenth of September, Justin and I celebrated our four year anniversary. We went out to lunch to one of our favorite sandwich places and the went with some friends to dinner. We tried Peruvian food for the first time. We also made our first trip to Baby's "R" Us. Needless to say I found lots of stuff I like seeing as how we are looking at both boys and girls decorations. Justin decided that he likes the glider rockers. He tried every one in the store out.

Which brings us to the next item of business. Last week was the beginning of my fourth month. I have decided that I am showing and Justin says I have a love bump but I still think that its a little early for others to tell. Every day I feel that I am getting more round. Other then that month four feels like the last three. I still feel good most of the time. Everyone keeps asking me if I can feel the baby moving and sometime I think that I do but then others I think that its all in my head.

I finally passed my NCLEX test, four days ago. So I have been looking for jobs and having little luck finding jobs that I can apply for. But we are still optimistic and there will be more opportunities once I get my permanent license issued.

Other then that we are still working the weddings, Justin's working at the sky diving company. We took sometime off to go to Beaver for my cousins mission farewell and my Grandma's Birthday. Justin enjoyed trying to keep up the 19 year old boys and I enjoyed lounging around and reading books, for fun.

NO excuses

So I realized a while ago that I have blogged in like a month. Then another month passes and I still haven't done anything blog worthy. So, no excuses. But our Internet has been acting up lately, its hit or miss if it works. I have been ether really busy or had nothing to do. For the last couple of weeks. Most of my school work is done, I have three more hospital days, one final, and one project to finish up. I should be done by Thursday. Hurray for me. I have been working in the ER at Sienna. Which is the biggest one in Henderson. I have seen lots of "cool" stuff, nothing to bloody or gross. Justin thinks I am disturbed because I enjoy it so much. I have learned a ton, its great to actually practice and see the things that I have learned about. I really like the nurse I have been working with. Her favorite thing to do is to "quiz" me about how to handle different situations and most of the time I get it right. I really wish that I could get a job there, but it is extremely hard to get hired as a new grad in the ER.

At home, the house mostly stays clean. We have been eating out a lot because of our crazy schedules. Justin works like fifty to sixty hours a week. He is very glad it has been cool these last few days. Bruno feels neglected. He did however have a friend for a couple of days. My friend Julie stayed with use for a while and her puppy came to visit for a day. He is the same color as Bruno and thought it was fun to chew on his tail. Bruno didn't know what to do with him. But he was cute.

For the fourth we went up with our boss and friends to the top of Black mountian and watched all the firework shows in the valley. We could see everything from Lake Mead to North Vegas to the Strip. There were so many fireworks it was hard to know where to look.

So now we are getting ready for graduation and family to come visit. There's not to much else going on.

Justin's Parents came down over Memorial day. It was so nice to see them and to have a long weekend. They came into town late Thursday night. Friday the took us to Air Supply concerts here at one of the local casinos. It was a blast, I had no idea that I was such a big Air Supply fan, I swear I knew all but two of their songs well enough to sing along. It was so funny, Justin just kept asking why they were dancing around the stage and shaking their hips, their old me. I had to explain that, it was the cool thing to do. Saturday we did a little shopping and we went down to California. We went out the beach after checking in to our hotel. Justin and I had fun playing in the waves with our new body boards. We then went and got some great sea food. We spent part of the day Sunday at the beach, Justin was brave enough to try again, whereas I sat on the beach and watched the surf competition that was going on. But the best part was that Justin was offered two jobs this week and I think that he will be able to take both of them. One is working a few days a week for the Boulder City hospital and the other one is working ground support for a sky diving company.
We are excited to have a job and hope that it works out. Here are some pictures from the beach.

happenings

This last couple weeks have been very busy and stressful, but there has been some good things happen.

1. We went to a place called Bonnie Springs with some friends. It is a old western town, I thought it was going to be like Virgina City but it was very dirty and smelly and way overpriced. The good thing it that we didn't have to pay to get in and I got this picture of Justin.

Oh wait, that's the donkey at the petting zoo,
2. I survived another semester (the hardest one by far) of nursing school. Eight finals in two weeks.

3. Started summer semester and am doing my clinical rotation at the school district and was lucky enough to get assigned to the a school that is ten minutes away from my house with a nurse who is so nice and laid back.

4. Justin had discovered that craigslist has a free section and found some more free things for the house including a brand new pack an play for all the visiting babies.
5. We went to the our first show on the strip for free. We went and saw Steve Wyrick, real magic. It was fun to get out of the house
6. It is warm enough to go the the pool
7. Dad came to visit, we went out to dinner at a restaurant we wanted to try. Justin and Dad also spent the night playing tanks, their new favorite activity.
8. We got a new TV. 50 inches of pure picture. Plus we got an incredible deal on it and we are selling our old TV if anyone is interested.
Other then that, not much going on, school, looking for jobs and staying out of the heat. Yes we have reached the 100 degree mark. We are looking forward to Justin's parents coming to visit and my cousin's wedding in June.

April flowers and Easter bunnies

This last week was very busy. Justin's sister and her family came down to visit. We did a lot of shopping and went the the Dam. It was the first time I took the official Dam tour, which was interesting. She also gave us Easter baskets with lots of goodies in them. We worked all weekend. We started working for a lady in our ward who does weddings (flowers and decorations) Justin does all the manual labor and I make it look pretty. Well this weekend was also the summerlin bridal expo and I worked the booth. It was fun but even more important I get commission on all the wedding that I booked, which so far have been three. We had a lot of fun working together and the extra money will be very helpful. We even got to take home all the flowers we wanted so our house looked like a floral shop (or funeral parlor), but it smelled so good. Here are some of the picture of from this month.

The Rodeo Queens came to visit the Pediatric floor at the hospital and of course we had to get a picture with them

Birthday Week

Recently both Justin and I have celebrated our birthday and I regret to say that we are both in our mid twenties now. The week before my birthday we were able to go up to Reno for a few days. We had fun and went shopping for the first few days and then I got really sick (thanks Katy) So I spent the rest of the time sleeping and trying to stay hydrated. Justin spent the time getting me drinks and playing tanks on the Wii (our present from Mom and Dad) with my Dad, they were so funny. They would get to about level seven and then just start shooting each other. The last night we were there Dad made us a nice dinner and they got us our favorite cake from Claim Jumper, and I was even able to eat some of it.

(I haven't eaten in three days)

Then on my birthday we had a little BBQ at our house with some of our friends, Justin made me a cake. He also got me new scrubs and the Twilight movie.

For Justin's Birthday he went to the Desert races with some friends. So he got lots of junk food to take with him and some Wii accessories. I made him some chocolate molten cupcakes which were so yummy. We also went out to dinner at the cheesecake factory (we got free cheesecake) and went to the movies. So now we are back to our normal life. Justin's Sister and family are coming to visit which should be exciting this next week.

Plumbers

So for the last few days are house has been crawling with plumbers, drywallers, inspectors and other random workers. It wouldn't be so bad but they come at seven in the morning and basically take over the whole house. The good news is that we have all new, warrantied pipes and they they will be done painting on Monday! I am very impressed by how well the house came back together, I just wish they would repaint the whole house.

Other then that school is going well, I started my first IV, and we have been in our maternity rotation. It was so fun playing with the babies. I was even told by the nurse I worked with that I was one of the best student nurses they have ever had and that I should go into maternal nursing.
